1. The Physics of Specular Reflection in Stainless Steel
Unlike matte fabrics or textured plastics that scatter light diffusely, stainless steel is a direct specular reflector. When a strobe light hits a polished stainless steel surface, it bounces off at the exact angle of incidence. Direct lighting produces harsh, burnt-out white flare spots while the rest of the metallic body appears black or murky.
At Delhi Photography Services, we control the entire hemisphere surrounding the cookware using continuous curved diffusion banks and polarising gobos. By lighting the diffusers rather than the metal directly, the polished steel reflects a smooth, luxurious gradient. This highlights the authentic metallic luster and lets customers perceive the premium finish of your product.
